Seventy years ago, the medical profession in America determined that lipedema is incurable.

We do not agree.

Stefanie Gwinn-Vega lives with her husband and children in Schenectady, New York. She is an office manager and bookkeeper for an accounting firm. She someday wants to own a wheat-free and sugar-free bakery. Until then, she attempts to create her family's and friend's favorite snacks and comfort foods without wheat. She is co-author of bigfatlegs.com and administrator for Lipedema Unite on Facebook.

Maggie McCarey is a United Methodist minister on incapacity leave, a retired college English professor, and a feminist theologian. She is the author of Wise Woman's Children: Dancing Barefoot in the Church. Her belief is women are historically powerful and gifted healers who need to reclaim their contributions to humanity. She lives on a mountain in upstate New York with her husband and with her immediate family nearby.

Christina Routon is originally from Manchester, Georgia, and recently moved to Texas with her family. She is a writer, a general transcriptionist, and webmaster for her general transcription website and her business lifestyle site, Creative Life EnterprisesShe's proud to be a geek who enjoys tabletop role-playing games, watching Doctor Who (David Tennant is her favorite, but Matt Smith is growing on her), and watching anything written or produced by Stephen Moffat or Joss Whedon.

Tatjana van der Krabben studied Intercultural Communication at Tilburg University, the Netherlands. After working with the Dutch Ministry of Justice for several years, she switched careers. She is now a content writer and editor for her business Connected Communication, and a writer, and uses these skills to help spread knowledge about lipedema.
